Discussion Starter #5 May 4, 2013. Its a 2013 Taurus SHO. Already had the PCM programmed by LMS and some other hardware mods. I believe the SCT stuff just allows PCM programming. I havent found a thing that will do BCM stuff such allowing modification of programming for interior and exterior lighting (seeing if I can get DRL, etc to work). Software/ calibration files are what determine how a module processes data and commands outputs. PMI downloads these files from a Ford server, then loads the files to a new module through software download or “flash”. IDS Release Level IDS-122.03, 6/23/21 4:00 PM. Current Software Updates. How To Reprogram A Ford Pcm
Custom Ford vehicle programming. Offers tuning software for many Ford vehicles to help improve vehicle performance, driveability and economy. They offer two levels of software known as Special Forces and Commando. The Special Forces software is your entry level software but yet still very powerful.
It’s aimed to help how to reprogram/reflash Ford PCM via IDS software using scanners like VCM2 or VXDIAG VCX NANO for Ford. Also, solutions of Error Code:11.0×0 851082 will be shared here by other users.

Uninstall fmp and reinstall it. I have had this happen before.
I have had some new pcm be un programmable.
And just for reference. Fmp doesn’t like Google. Use 32 bit processor as well.
I had to slow my computer down from 64-32 because fmp would not work correctly with 64.

If you are checking PCM for up-dates, Ford will advise on 6.0L powertrain if there is a reflash avail for TCM, FICM or PCM, if it states there is no update then all three modules are at latest level, no action required, I am aware it states to remove FICM relay prior to reflash FICM, this is a carryover note from when we used PDS or WDS to reflash the FICM, if you are using IDS with VMM interface its not required to remove the FICM relay, I have reflashed over 1000 of them this way over the last 7 years, as always make sure the battery stays in the sweet spot @ 13.5 volts, make sure your laptop has sufficient power, I always plug in, make sure cables to veh and laptop are safe from accidental disconnect, Good luck!

If you try to VCM2 genuine or clone to make reprogaming well you need IDS V98.01 or higher.
It would be good to check if during initiation programming interface output 18,5V on pin 13 in OBD connector.
How to reprogram PCM via IDS software:

Install VMware and well setup IDS software follow the video/pdf guide (see attachment below)
Run Ford Module Programming
Click on car icon
Select “Start New Session”
Press “Confirm”
The SAE J2534 pass-thru device cables must not interfere the safe operation of the vehicle. Secure all cables away from the vehicle pedals.
Make connection as shown
Turn ignition to ON
Apply the parking brake
Apply Neutral/Park gear position
Establishing communication to PCM
Verify vehicle information
Press programming icon
Select “Module programming”
Select “Programmable Module Installation”>> “PCM”
Again verify vehicle information and confirm
Turn ignition to OFF position (Position 0)
Check if the displayed VIN is correct, if yes, hit Yes to continue
Follow the system prompt to install a new module in vehicle
Step 2: Reprogram PCM with VCM 2 IDS
Please read the following information carefully.
NOTE: Do not start a reprogramming session with a low battery in the vehicle and/or programming tool.
The fuel pump and the engine cooling fan(s) may run during the following procedure.
If you are programming a 6.0L diesel, the FICM replay must be removed before programming.
Turn ignition to ON position
Erase procedure in progress
Downloading data and reprogramming PCM in progress
Turn ignition to OFF
The operation in progress
Turn ignition to ON
Set ignition switch to OFF
Calibration has been loaded and checked.
If you programmed a 6.0L diesel please reinstall the FICOM relay.
Start engine. Do not depress the throttle pedal.
Set ignition to OFF
Set ignition to ON
Clear stored fault codes
Turn ignition to OFF
PCM reprogramming procedure is done.
